I see more advanced treatments like TCA peels, skin needling, and radio frequency becoming core services across the industry. As these treatments continue to evolve, our focus will always be on bringing you options that are proven, safe, and truly effective, not just new for the sake of being new.
As a result, I hope more advanced treatments will come to MJ’s in 2026, which we are currently trialling and carefully assessing, before bringing them to you.
Microneedling and Collagen
Microneedling will continue to grow in popularity and be recognised for its ability to significantly increase collagen by stimulating the skin’s natural healing process. These treatments focus on controlled stimulation rather than aggressive correction. It is about using the skin’s own ability to heal itself, triggering its natural repair response, boosting collagen and elastin, and strengthening the skin so it becomes healthier, firmer, and more resilient over time. After a treatment, the skin can continue producing new collagen for several months, which is why results keep improving long after the session itself.
Using the Skin’s Own Ability
More treatments will be designed to work with the skin’s natural repair process instead of forcing fast change. The goal is strong, healthy, and resilient skin that can look after itself long term.
Supplements as Skincare
Supplements will become a bigger part of skincare routines, with more people supporting their skin from the inside using nutrients, collagen, and gut-supporting formulas. Beauty will no longer just be about what you put on your skin, but also about what you put into your body.
Gut–Brain–Skin Connection
The link between the gut, brain, organs, and skin will become more widely understood. Skin professionals will look at digestion, stress, hormones, and internal health when treating skin concerns, helping to heal the body as well as the skin.
Skincare Makeup
Makeup will move away from fashion trends and toward skincare-based formulas that improve the skin while being worn. The focus will be on healthy, natural-looking skin rather than heavy coverage.
Radio Frequency: Done Right
Radio frequency treatments will continue to grow for both face and body, helping to stimulate collagen, tighten the skin, and give visible results without invasive procedures. However, not all radio frequency technology is the same, and this is where a lot of confusion comes in.
Some forms of radio frequency work very deeply, reaching the subcutaneous layer and fat. That can be useful when the goal is fat reduction on the body, but it is not something I would ever use on the face. On the face, we want to protect the fat layer, not reduce it. Losing facial fat can lead to a hollow, aged appearance.
There are radio frequency devices on the market that go too deep, and when used on the face they can do more harm than good. This is why it is so important to understand what type of technology is being used, what machine it is, and how deep into the skin and fat layer it works.
At MJ’s, we use a bipolar radio frequency device. Bipolar technology works in the top layers of the skin, where we actually want stimulation, supporting collagen and skin tightening without damaging the fat layer underneath. There is a big difference between bipolar and other systems, and many people do not realise this.
Some treatments combine microneedling with radio frequency, where needles go deep into the skin and then deliver heat. These types of treatments are more likely to affect the fat layer, especially if not done correctly. They can reduce fat in areas like the face, and if carried out poorly, they can leave people with burns, marks, scarring, or uneven texture.
That is why we are very careful about what technology we use. For us, radio frequency should work in the skin, not in the fat. The goal is collagen stimulation, skin strength, and long-term skin health, not thinning or damaging the natural structures that keep the face looking youthful.
My Vision for 2026
2026 is about improving the skin, not hiding it. It is about skill over hype, science-backed treatments over fast fashion trends, inside-out beauty, and long-term skin health supported by smart treatments and healthy lifestyle choices.
